I am constantly tired, and I never feel like I rest at night. I just feel like I sleep and that's it. I have basicly no energy. I'm sure that I'm overweight. I am 6ft3in tall and weight 320lbs. I have tried various herbs like melatonin, valerian root, and passion flower. They do help me to fall asleep easier, but don't help me to feel rested after sleeping. I have had my thyroid and blood count tested, and both are normal. I do not know what else to try, and I am extremely frustrated. Any good ideas???I don't think that hypnosis would work on me, unless I was partially drugged first. Thanks for any help.

Exercise....and maybe your not sleeping on a good mattress.....maybe your sleeping..but not GOOD sleep.....
Watch what you eat...especially evening eating....and drink lots of water.....I'm not certain that being overweight would account for having no energy..but certainly wouldn't hurt to try to get rid of a few of those extra pounds....take a nice long hot shower right before bed...see if that helps you relax....if you don't find any results...I would suggest a consult with your physician. There are medical facilities that do sleep studies...maybe they could shed some light on your situation. Good luck and God Bless...Hope you find your solution!

When you only get 4-5 hours of sleep, you're probably waking up when you're not in REM sleep. If you sleep for 7 hours, usually when you wake up you will be in REM sleep, causing you to feel exhausted. The best time to wake up is to wake up just coming out of REM Sleep which I think is 8 hours. Remember that even though you feel less tired after getting 4-5 hours of sleep, you still aren't getting enough rest.

your best bet is go to the gym. If you exercise you feel more energetic. You said you weigh too much for your height and weight loss will definitely give you more energy and also help with your sleep. Good luck it really works. I lost 30 pounds since I joined the gym and i exercise every other day.

How about some good old fashion exercise...it doesn't have to be a major workout. Take a brisk walk after dinner..not only will the activity help you sleep but the fresh air will do it too! And make sure no caffeine after 4pm!

Is it possible you're getting TOO much sleep? If I sleep 6-7 hours, I feel great. If I sleep 10, I'm a wreck and have no energy whatsoever.

Do u drink enough water, that is usually a largely underestmated factor?

Smoking was also a big problem for me until maybe 2 years ago.

You might want to check with your physician about depression. I know from experience depression can cause your body to do things it doesn't usually do. It can cause fatigue, pain and all sorts of things. You can read about it online. I will leave a link for a website I like. Good luck to you.
