Come on, he was elected because he was Conan and the Terminator - and it's California.
That state is star struck, I think it has something to do with Hollywood.

He was re-elected because the Democratic Party in California endorsed an exrtremely liberal candidate, and the Democratic voters nominated him in the primary. Phil Angelides was so little known, and lacked even the personality of the prior Democratic governor, Gray Davis, who was recalled by the electorate. Even a significant number of Democrats statewide voted for Schwartzneggar over the Democrat.

Sorry, I'm a democrat -- and I didn't vote for Angelides in the primary. If we'd put up a real candidate we could have easily hose Ahnold.
The guy who wins the primary isn't always the best candidate...:(

Hes the best GOP, in my opinion. I'm a Democrat, but I respect this man...didn't like him as an entertainer, but am pleased with his performance as governor.

But he sure was the better choice in the election.
I voted for him because I haven't been adversely affected by his method of running California.
