One reason i became a Republican is because the Dem's are so dysfunctional. They vote for the war,and then blame it all on the president. If a Dem was president they'd be all for it still.

I was listening to "Meet the Press" today and as Senator Biden explained, I am probably poorly paraphrasing, but it would have been wonderful to send more troops when the generals were asking for them at the beginning of the war. However, now our generals say troops will not help. There are millions of Iraqis in a civil war and sending 20,000 or 30,000 extra troops door to door won't help.

From what Biden was saying it sounds dangerous to send more troops. He was saying they don't want to withdraw all troops, if that is what you are suggesting. He did say a military solution is not what is needed now, but rather a political solution. The leader of Iraq has to work with the other factions using oil as an incentive, basically our troops can't force Iraq to end the civil war at this point. He has a web site with more details at: http://planforiraq.com/

It wasn't the Dems that got us into the dudu, and feeding more Marines to the Iraqi meat grinder won't make it any better. We should get them out of the Iraqi civil war and bring them home ASAP. I don't think that's "cut and run". I think what's going on over there is none of our business, that is, except for the no bid contracts and huge payments to contractors that have produced absolutely nothing. PeeTee

We got here because of republican influence.

Besides what does it mean to us if we just leave?
-The price of oil won't go up, Iraq is hardly producing much now.
-Terrorism against the US won't go up. Most terrorist base camps are in Afghanistan still today.
-We will expend less resources and free up the cash flow to pay down the deficit. USA would be in a better position economically.

It is better if we just leave. Iraq didn't matter to us before, and that hasn't changed.

No, it's totally stupid and selfish to continue to send our young people to die in a war that we should have never started & cannot possibly win!
