Democracies and Television?

Last time i voted there where 9 party`s to pick from. but to look at the tv you would think there only three at most.surly as a domocracy they should all have equel air time or none at all and let polititions do the leg work for our votes

Do you want television to be wall to wall political ads for the lat 2 months before an election. That in the best case scenario if 'equal time' is mandated. The worst case is, you would never hear anything about the candidates. I don't mean every commercial would be political. I mean all programs would be eliminated to make room for political ads.

No, it doesn't make sense because it would be easy to create 2,000 different parties...u want them all given the same coverage????

This is a good example of spending 3 seconds thinking about something when a few years is the amount of time it deserves.

The amount of air-time given to political parties depends upon the number of party members - the membership of the party.

Perhaps the lesser known parties, have less money, to pay for air time. Its difficult to know which is the lesser evil as it is.
