It healed off center in a way that there is a protruding lump above my collar bone. instead of the bone being healed completely attached diameter to diameter; each part of the bone is off centered to the other part. This does not keep my arm or body from functioning, however my collar bone cannot be as strong as if it was correctly connected. sometimes this does cause me a minimal amount of pain and irritation.
my concern is i will soon have insurance. but if this is considered a cosmetic surgery, it may not be covered
thanks

It isn't that it grew with a flat spot, or the protrusion is from a calis of the bone healing. I can feel the end of the bone where it grew off center.

Unless your line of work involves shoulder modelling or modelling your body in general it is unlikely that your insurance will cover this.

In most cases, when the collar bone heals with a noticeable lump it will smooth out over time and become less noticeable as the bone remodels. You will find that it is, in fact, as strong as previously - in some cases more so because healing bone often heals with a fatter area of bone around the fracture.

Cosmetic surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
