Actually its about 40 percent both ways. Gore would have won and cold hard facts proved that he should have won. Our Computers that counted polls had showed to have Major Security flaws in them, and Many of the computers that counted the polls were Counting backward. Meaning that they were counting backwards making Gores count show negative.
Anyway I am very disappointed with Bush and Feel things could have been dealt with Much better. See the smart way to look at this is like this. 1 Life is worth saving hundreds or thousands of life's Don't you think ? But losing Thousands of life's of our People and Losing Thousands of Innocent Iraqi Peoples life's for 1 life Saddam's, isn't worth it.
Anyone with common sense knows that when a Person will risk the life's of thousands for 1 person that there is much more to the whole story then being told. Bush has other intentions and that's that.
:) I'm ashamed of my president and he should be of himself as well.

Anybody who attempts to say their party is liked more than the other is going to give statistics based upon uninformed data. There are "pockets" of liberal and conservatives in every state. Sadly, the United States often times votes based upon uninformed "garbage" instead of reading about every aspect involved with a certain political stand. The democrates always lay blame to the republicans and republicans upon the democrates. For one party to say "look what we've done" one must consider many aspects. Some changes take YEARS to actually show an effect. Also, it's NOT the president that passes the laws in this country but our Congress. If one party outweights the other in members, of course, our laws could swing either liberally or conservatively. Many politicians (notice I didn't say democrate or republican because BOTH are to blame!) are more "lip service" than action which is why there are so many problems in the country! When politicians seek votes, they obviously stretch their story so that the prospective voters will vote for THEM. A very unpopular era of our nation was with Vietnam. Very politically directed war. When the first President Bush was in office...he insured that politics were avoided when directing the way in which the wars and battles were fought. He left that to the generals and admirals who, of course, are the experts. The wars and battles were won expeditiously. Now comes Iraq. A very unique situation to say the least. What many citizens in this country don't understand is that terrorists don't care where or how they strike! The current Bush administration decided to take the battle to THEIR country and keep it there instead of having another tragic event like that of the Twin Towers in New York City. In less than an hour, terrorists killed more people compared to that of what's taking place in Iraq. When people fight for a "right" it's popular. When people don't comprehend the whole picture, they often lambast those responsible for our country's direction. Vietnam was fought during a democratic tenure while Iraq is being fought during a republican tenure. So you can see, as I've said earlier it boils down to this...you can please some of the people SOME of the time...but not ALL of the people ALL of the time!

Look at the results of the last few elections. Bush beat Kerry by about 2 or 3 points - pretty close. In 2000, Gore actually got MORE votes than Bush, though Bush got the electoral total (debatable in itself, but that's another story). In the 2006 midterms (Congressionals), the Democrats took control of both houses of our legislature, away from control that the Republicans had since 1994.
So, you tell me - is America Republican?
Truth is, our country is quite split. There's a lot of talk among analysts that we're actually centrist - but while there are lots of non-partisan voters, I'm not so sure that the very fundamental definers of political identity are all that soft. By this, I mean that, at the core, there are two views of government in our country, and I think our public, at this time, is still split very solidly and decisively, about 50/50.

Bush will likely go down in history as one of the top ten worst presidents of the USA.
We can only hope some Democratic control in congress will improve the next two years of his term.
