My friend wanted me to post this question up for her because she only has MSN messenger.

She hasn't had a boyfriend before and is considering dating this guy shes known for a long time. The guy loves her deeply but it bothers her that he was dumped in his last and only relationship. She is very very pretty and has turned down a lot of guys up until now. Her question is if she gets with a guy that was dumped will that make her look really bad because she can basically get any guy she want? PLUS, she says the girl that dumped him is one of her enemies and is completely ugly.

I told her plenty of famous and successful people get dumped such as halle barry, lindsay lohan, p diddy and the list goes on. That doesn't make them any less desirable. Please give me your input and help me get through to her one point or another =) Thank you!

This question doesn't apply to me. I already have a guy and we are way beyond that stage. I told her I wouldn't mind posting it for her so she won't have to sign up just to ask a question =)

Thanks for all the answers everyone!

there are many different types of people that have a wide variety of standards in life, so I would have to say if it makes someone feel like they are looking bad then I would guess that person needs to look deeper and stop being so vain. Maybe the ugly part was the relationship and not the people in it? Maybe the girl that did the dumping was just saving herself? I would worry more about those kind of things but I am probably alot older than you and have been there too many years ago to count.

some people have a sloppy seconds mentality about goin out with someone elses dumpiee.
other people have an attitude of it's like buying a used car,you
are inheriting someone elses problems.
the most optimistic appraisal is that one persons trash is anothers treasure.
the most important appraisal has to come from you.
there have been countless examples where by a person getting
dumped is picked up by someone else and they have the time of their lives.
you are best advised to look at the conditions that led to the person geting dumped.keep in mind getting dumped by a significant other is really not unlike loosing a job.it may or may not have been your fault.
she needs to evaluate the guy for herself only this way can she
best know for sure, atleast the dumping gives her a heads upjust incase.

"One man's trash is another man's treasure"

It's a matter of preference, a size 10 shoe is too small for my foot so I'd reject it, but someone else would love it.

If your friend cares this much about appearances and things of this nature, they just need to shut themselves in a room now. People talk all the time about things that aren't always true and blah blah blah.... this is so minor an issue it's quite laughable.

ahhh everyone has been dumped at some stage so i suggest she not think about it and concentrate on what is important -- is there a relationship with this guy or are they going to be friends only

Well I think not worring about being dumped , it all boils down to if she cares about him , and maybe she could even help him with her bad self to be happy not thinking of that other girl . It is if she cares about him who cares if he has been dumped . Just deal with him and not all that other stuff .

No It would be stupid to turn down someone who liked you if you like them back just because they've been dumped.
To be honest it seems to make her look shallow, but you may want to leave that out.

If she is that worried about herself, she definitely is not date material, and needs to stay home and leave that guy alone!
