Sky, NTL, and most internet providers offer internet, phone, tv combinations I am on AOL and have my phone calls through them. I can phone national landlines for free anytime and for unlimited time, unlike a lot of others where you have todisconnect and re dial after an hour. However, you will still have topay BT for line rental, but that is all. If you can receive cable, they do packages as well but they aren't available all over the country. The other way is to go wireless, you can on your PC, this doesn't require a phone line at all, then you can download Skype and buy pay as you go phone time. Very cheap, you call peoples phones via your PC. MSN and Yahoo also have the same sort of thing now. SKYPE upset them when they realised, along with the telephone companies, that they couldn't stop them providing the service so everyone has got onto it now. Good luck.

In case you don't consider secure slicing them, get your self a 'continuity tester'. They look like a screwdriver and fee not up to a big mac. You must be capable to choose one up in any electrical interest store or on the internet. You hold one finish of the screwdriver and touch the opposite to the wire, if there may be any elektrickery in the wire, the tester will remove darkness from. If they are coaxial cables, go ahead and reduce them. Coaxial cables do not carry electricity in the classical sense, they bring about radio waves. If one end is not connected to anything, nothing moves by way of the cable at all. Telephone cables can give you a shock however it's handiest 80 volts (you'll absolutely consider it, however it would not even burn you) and it's most effective an instantaneous before the first ring.

Telewest = 3 for £30 for all 3 services (broadband, TV & phone), but they're the really basic packages. I pay £55.25 for all 3 services (Essential TV, broadband + security & unlimited phone use), which I consider to be a very good deal for an extremely reliable service. For details, go to - www.telewest.co.uk.

NTL or Telewest. Depending on what coverage you have in your area. They'll give you a good deal on TV too. It's worth phoning them and telling them you are changing from BT and are looking at options - you'll be in a good posistion to negotiate a good deal
