Most people like bigger animals better - dogs, horses, ect. I like domestic cats because they are easy to maintain. They don't require alot of grooming like dogs or horses. They aren't really sociable creatures, unless they were when they were young. Most of the time, they are great mousers; only if you get the smart ones!
Now, if you're talking about the bigger or exotic cats, that's a different story. Big cats are just beautiful creatures! You can't help but respect the power they have, and their natural grace is amazing as well! They are cats, they're just over grown cats. So they think the same way that domestic cats do.
And the exotic cats have a natural beauty about them. Probly because they are rare in the United States and people love to see the different markings or colors of them! I know I do. With their beauty, and different body structure, it's no wonder people love the exotic cats!
I'm more of a dog person myself, but I like all animals. I'm an animal lover, what can I say? lol

I like them because they liked me... as a child, my dad always told me wonderful stories about his dogs he had as a teenager. However, dogs just didn't like me, they'd often snap at me and the like even though I was neither afraid of them, nor did I run up to them quickly or whatever. Even when I haven't even *seen* a dog it'll sometimes start growling when it walks by. And cats, well, neither my mom nor my dad liked them much, so I was taught they were pretty boring animals that never got close to people... but anywhere I came where there was a cat, the cat would come up to me, even if they were normally afraid of strangers and/or children! There are definitely cat people and dog people, and the animals told me I'm a cat person. I don't think it's quite this extreme in everyone, of course there are lots of people who get along with both cats and dogs, but I've also met people who're the other way around, they can do anything with any scared/abused dog, but even the gentlest cat doesn't like to be petted by them.

They like them because 400 years ago the first domestic cat was the ideal cat for families and lonely fat woman, the cat casted a spell upon the world and today we humans are still under this spell, it only affect certian people that are the same strand of dna from the orinigal cat owner.

really? I thought most humans love dogs because dog was the first animal to be friends with human. I think cats are furry and more cuddly but I dont like cats.

because they have an easy personality. they can be basically self-sufficient. cuddle, humans like to have an animal around that can be cuddled (we like to nurture. According to psychological studies, we are attracted to the because they have big eyes like human babies in relation to their skull. They are independent enough so they are low maintenance. Unconditional love (also in dogs) that still shows that they love us through different gestures and actions.Don't make much noise. And the purring is calming.
There are many other reasons, but these are a few.

I don't know about other people, but I like them because they are independent, catch mice and are friendly in just the right way at the right times.
I like some dogs, but not all of them. Most generally dogs are too demanding for my liking. Cats are demanding when they are hungry and I am more than happy to satisfy them by feeding them.

Your question was really an opinion... Maybe you should ask yourself why you might like cats? If not cats, then an other animal you might like and most likely you got the answer.

Most people who don't like cats, don't like them because the cat is smarter and more independant than they are.
