If you do mean "dementia", it's Latin:

demens, dementis (gen.), out of one's mind/senses; demented, mad, wild, raving; reckless, foolish;

It looks a mispelled Italian.
If so similar words are :
Dimenticarsi = to forget
Si dimentichi = You need to forget
Dimenticati = You must forget
Dimenticabile = forgettable
Dimestichezza = familiarity , knowledge
(Faccende) domestiche= Houseworks
(Questioni) domestiche = Family affairs

That's all I've to help you

Are you sure of the spelling?

Do you mean "dementia"? That would be the loss of mental abilities, typically brought on as people age. "Senility" would be another word with about the same meaning.
