I am restoring a 1971 chvey nova...I plan to put in a cd player instead of the factory radio. Anyone know of a kit that goes into the radio opening and the right harnesses?..I know they have kits selling for over 300 dollars...im looking for something a little less expensive..thanks

Well original is king so lets find somer where
else to put that fancy cd player mounted directly
under the stock cd player is good that way its easy to hide your wires . But if your good,
you fabricate your own cd player slot "Where
the stock one is" using a
dremel and also an exacto knife
These are PRobably your best two other options .

Crutchfiled has great deals on refurb radios and if you buy the radio from them they will usually throw in a harness that will fit the car then also fit into the radio.
I use them all the time installing radios,.Their tech people are great.

Instead of worrying about the tranny. I suggest you trade it in on a different & newer car. You got way too many things working against you with that beast if your really concerned about fuel economy. Cars back then didnt have any concept of fuel economy unless you lived in Ca & even then it wasnt a big deal in some parts of the USA. Next, the weight of that vehicle is killing you & that large carb sitting on your engine is the other killer
