The brighter/lighter in color the red of the blood indicates where the blood is comming from. If it is bright red and you pat the area it may be just hemmroids or a tear just inside the rectum. But, as almost everyone else suggested, seek medical attention. If it is only when you have a bowel movement it very well may be something of that nature. Letting it just go will not help!

If it is a large amount of blood you should see your doctor. Do you have hemorrhoids? Sometimes an inner hemorrhoid can rupture and cause bleeding but it isn't usually a large amount of blood. And to rule out a possible more serious problem, a doctor visit, though embarassing, may save your life. Good luck

It could be hemorrhoids, polyps, cancer or a GI bleed but needs to be investigated immediately. Call your doc in the morning and get this checked out ASAP. Rectal bleeding is not something you can ignore.

anytime there is blood in the urine or stools its not a good thing. and if you have cramps, go to the doctor. maybe its something minor, or it could be something more serious that if caught early could be easy to fix up. just go to the doctor asap.

It may be nothing more than hemorrhoids, however it is best to go to your doctor and have a check up for this. Also, begin eating more grains, vegetable and roughage so that it is easier on your system to use the bathroom.

Could be lots of things... hemmoroids, hard stool (resolved by having more fiber and/or a stool softener), etc.

I'd suggest going to see a doctor.
