Relaxation tapes or Cd's and while you are listening to the music, try slowly breathing in through your nose for 2 seconds (1 one thousand 2 one thousand) and out through your mouth for 4 seconds making sure your abdomen rises not your chest. This will seem awkward at first but is actually a more healthy way to breathe. While lying in bed or a warm comfy, quiet room, close your eyes, and imagine yourself at being in your favorite quiet tranquil place. Stretch each body part starting with your toes hold for a count of 10 then release slowly and totally relax your toes, then go to your feet, ankles, buttox, fingers, arms, shoulders, head, neck and face and jaw. Do one body part at a time. By the time you are done you should feel very relaxed. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I use yoga and meditation to relax if I'm stressed. Sometimes writing my thoughts down also helps, as well as listening to some calm music. But really, I go for the yoga/meditation first. It calms my breath and kind of gets my energies resorted and back to normal :) Everybody's different. Some people think punching pillows is a good way to relax after stress, others turn to other sources.

Take a good long relaxing walk and/or run! It will help relieve your stress. The physical energy that goes into the walk will help your stress melt away! I like to use a radio or something so that my mind isn't focusing on whatever is stressing me. If I'm listening to music I can focus on the songs and not the stress! Good luck!

Ok, stress releases certain chemicals into the blood stream...
You can exercise and "consume" those chemicals as your muscles utilizes them as energy, and that will reduce the levels to a reasonable level...
You can try yoga, (but the chemicals will still be there)...But, you can at least try and ease your mind though meditation.
Oxygen therapy, (sucking up oxygen from a tank of O2), may help burn off the chemicals or add extra "stuff" or oxidize them into a simpler compound to be absorbed through the cell walls.
Watching calming movies may "soothe" you for awhile and take your mind off your problems...
I vote for the exercise... not strenuous, just stretching at first, and if that doesnt work, then start out light and work up until you get over the tension...
Also, a Chiropractor will help relieve the "knots" in your back, (one that 'stretches you and ties you in knots, not use a thumper on you). Its been proven to reduce migrains also, as my Wife went to one when her migraines became severe and with in three treatments she didnt have anymore...(she was all tensed up with knots all over her back muscles...bunched up and all from stress).
I wish you well..

Meditate or concentrate on one word for about 20 minutes. Try to watch a good move to take your mind off your stress.

I try to sit in a comfortable chair where it is quiet, breathe in through my nose for 4 seconds, counting them in my head, and out through my mouth for 4 seconds, and count them too. I really concentrate on the breathing and nothing else until I almost doze off. Then I feel refreshed when I am done.

I'm not saying this to be a disgusting debra, but masturbation is an excellent way to relieve tension and stress. It's not "dirty", and can be very passionate and fullfilling.
