It deends what antidepressants you are on. There are many different types and some you can have a small amount of alcohol and be OK and some its very dangerous to drink with. Either add the drug you're on to the question or dont take chances and keep off the drink;

I take anti-depressants. A small amount of alcohol will not hurt you at all - trust me. I have been on them for a long time, and always have a drink when I go out to dinner. No problem.

Never drink alcohol with any type medication especially depressants. As for as what will happen, it might not the first or few times, but enough alcohol with depressants can be fatal.

I'm a nurse. You will be Ok. But make sure it's a small amount. If you drink more then skip the pills for the night.

Meds and alcohol don't mix, especially when the meds is for a chemical imbalance. I don't know what would happen, maybe nothing, but do you want to take that chance.

You should never mix any sort of medications with alcohol because your body could go into shock and you could start having convultions. Either that or you could just feel really really drunk. if you have asthma it could set off an attack also.

if i were you, i wouldn't even risk mixing alcohol with any type of medication--depending on the medicine, there could be reactions that wouldn't be good for you. i don't believe in mixing medicine & alcohol at all.

Once in a very great while, it shouldn't be a problem. We're talking one glass of wine or one beer, maybe once every couple of months or so.

Best to keep it at a minimum, though.
