Can anyone recommend a good video capture device?

I want to transfer my VHS videos to my laptop. Can anyone recommend a good video capture device? Tell me your computer specs so that I will know whether the device will work on my laptop.

I have a 1.6 Ghz P4, 256MB RAM laptop.

i would suggest getting something like a
HAUPPAUGE Nova-T Stick this is a usb connection.

my laptop is a AMD sempron 3000+ 1gb of RAM.
