On his radio program, Dr. Dean Edell talked about a behavior modification program for insomnia called sleep ecology. He said that over a six month period it worked better for people than did pharmaceutical prescription sleep meds.

Part of insomnia for many people is the thoughts and behaviors that come along with it. I imagine that behavior modification would work. You would be retraining your body to learn to sleep again.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

It is going to depend somewhat on what is causing your insomnia but it definitely can make a significant difference in most people. If used in conjunction with other things it has a higher chance of being helpful.

insomnia is a bad sleeping problem, right? well, you need to start working on both your mental health and your feet. i mean think right. think good thoughts. and drive out the bad old thoughts. and use your feet to run. run and run and you will improved the odds of sleeping. like, when you got tired as a little kid, didn't you fall asleep after you said your prayers. that is the other thing say your prayers too. you know, now i lay me down to sleep etc. lol huh?

Try Melatonin.
Most of us produce it naturally
Completely harmless. (follow the directions, buy a good brand)
I use it on my 2year old.
I would use it the first time, letting someone know,
This has been around since before Christ.
I would ask are you a Type A personality? Can't shut your brain off?
It beats years of Bio Feedback, and additive sleeping meds.

Yeh, have them get off the computer and stop watching TV all day and do something constructive. Maybe they ill get tired and go to sleep at night. I don't know anyone that actually works for a living that can't get to sleep.
