The Republicans held the legislative branch and the executive branch for the last 6 years. In the last six years we've heard alot of militant, macho, talk about how we need to stop immigration and how we're fighting another war in America. But that's all we've gotten out of them: talk. We haven't seen any new fence put up, we haven't seen the military go to the boarder and ARREST illegals, and so we haven't seen ANY progress in terms of preventing illegal immigration. We've heard alot of talk, but not alot of action. Talk doesn't count for anything in my book.

Then we'll hear Republicans/conservative bit** at the liberals for being pro-immigration and how the liberals love illegal Mexicans, etc. . .But what about conservatives? They talk about liberals loving immigrants and how conservatives want to prevent it, but they haven't prevented it. They haven't done any of the things they promised. They had SIX years of control of what goes on in the US but they've done nothing.

WHY?

"guess you missed the bit about the National Guard now rotating troops to support the Border Patrol, and the bit about the new fences going up."

Oh yeah, the national guard is there now. They can arrest illegals and send them back to Mexico where 3 days later they'll try to do the same thing again. Big deal. Oh yeah and that 700 mile fence on a 2,000 mile boarder, I sure hope that those illegals don't know their geography and don't use the other 2/3 of the open boarder.

"they have to deal with a democratic congress"

Are you really as stupid as you sound or did you just not read the details?

all of the illegal chatter was purley for political foot ball by the great Christan right republicans. Now that the election is over you will see no more action until the republicans bring it back if for next election just like they use to do the welfare and then education. Its all a bunch of bullsh*t just to put a snow job on the people to get votes and people fall for it every time.

It isn't that Republicans didn't do anything. The Democrats piled their pork-barrel riders on them and the bills couldn't make it through Congress.

We haven't seen a fence go up because there isn't funding to do so. Congress approved a bill that would allow the construction of over 700 miles of fencing.

The National Guard has gone in to help the Border Patrol and thousands of illegal aliens are caught and brought back to Mexico each day. Most of the mainstream press doesn't pick it up though because it conflicts with their agenda of amnesty.

I just saw a piece on Fox News yesterday showing that a lot of illegal aliens have forged identities...forged copies of legal documents. This means that our citizens are being victimized by identity theft and this is getting a lot of people upset. That was the first anti-immigration story I've seen in a long time on any network.

If you don't think that progress has been made, you haven't been paying attention.

Liberals are pro-amnesty because the legal citizens that are here are registered Democrats. They have a vested interest in getting more of their kind of voter. However, they don't really care about Mexicans, they only care about their votes.

There was a politician in California that announced that you didn't have to be a legal citizen to vote. She was speaking to a group of Mexicans. Instead of apologizing, she said that her comments were taken out of context and that she meant that she wanted the "undocumented residents" to help the political process by handing out flyers. I guess that it's all they can do since they can't even speak the language.

Umm...because the Bush Republicans are little more "conservative" than the Clintons or the Gores. Bush, as a conservative, is a fraud.

Why do you think we didn't re-elect those jackasses? Because we stayed home in November.

Because they lost touch with the citizens and voters let them know it last November. Yes, they caved to big money, same as the democrats had previously when they held power. Let's see if they do any better this time around.
