Bit of a presumption. The question was asked to elicit intelligent answers. Yours is obviously not one of them. Don't pretend to know even the slightest thing about my political persuasion suffice to say that I think politics is far to important to be left to politicians and most of them are little more than career politicians covering their own political asses.
Must try harder...

No one denies its existance. Sea level has been rising at the rate of one foot per century for the last 10,000 years(or 100 centuries). All coastal mediterranean towns from before the time of Christ are under at least 30 feet of water today. The mediterranean region is much warmer and dryer than during biblical times. During the previous interglacial period that ended about 120,000 years ago, both polar ice caps completely melted. (Then they refroze during the last ice age, that ended about 10,000 years ago.)
The controversy is not about whether global warming is happening. The controversy is about whether humans are having a significant effect on it or not, and if so, what to do about it, if anything. If anyone doubts that global warming is happening, just remember that places like Michigan and Moscow were under as much as 10,000 feet of ice, just a short 10,000 years ago.

I have a hard time believing that global warming is real. How do we really know what the earth is doing. We have only been on the earth for the last couple thousand of years and only been able to really determine weather and the ozone for the last 100 years if even that. I just think it is a way for people to feel better about wasting time and space.

A great politician once said, "The first job of a politician is to get elected. And the second job of a politician is to get re-elected." So politicians say what they think will keep them popular with the electorate and get them re-elected.
BTW, I really like your avatar!! Very mystical!

Since when, in the last 100 years, did politicians say anything worth hearing? Or worse... that was for your own personal good?

Because they don't want it to be real. That would screw up all of the businesses. There's so much evidence now that it's real that they can't really deny it anymore.... watch An Inconvenient Truth.

Global warming is VERY real. They are denying it because it will cut into thier paychecks. They don't care about us, our future or our children. It's pretty messed up, but that is the world we live in.
