It's not that it's a terrible game, it just the story sucks and it uses so little of the Wii's potential.
The swordfighting looked promising, but there's hardly any of it in the game. Most of the action uses the remote just like a Zapper lightgun for the original NES. If you've beaten Twilight Princess, you're a pro in Wii Sports, and you can't wait to buy another game, Red Steel will probably give you your Wii fix until better games are released.

My roommate works at a Gamestop and says Red Steel is the only Wii title they've had sold back to them, so hopefully that'll give you a bit of an idea.

Since it's a new console, there are only a limited number of games so you might as well get it.
