It can be both arms. They feel as though they weigh 500 lbs a piece and have a dull pain sensation. Profuse sweating. Nausea. Severe headache. All systems of a heart attack. I know, i had one in June of this year. One other sign is a feeling of complete exhaustion. You can't seem to stay awake. If you have any of these signs go to the emergency room now. If you get there fast enough it can save your life.

It may vary unless circulation is generally poor throughout the body. Sleeping or laying on one side for an extended period of time can cause the circulation to block and create numbness and tingling in that arm when you get up. If it is a heart attack, however, it will most often be the left arm. A stroke would affect either side.

I believe poor circulation can affect any limb...causing numbness or coldness.
Are you meaning like a heart attack symptom? That is a pain going down your left shoulder into your arm.

My doc said that swelling and tingling can happen after a run like that, and not to worry, to try to move my arms more. But, waking up like that could be a problem, I would have a check up, you could be about to stroke.
