You are not being ridiculous. It is normal to want to support of your spouse. Most men I know expect their wives to support them in the work that they do. They get angry if they think their wives don't respect, admire, and support the jobs they do. I suggest talking to him and really letting him know how much it would mean to you if he would be there for you. If he still doesn't come to it, then I'd say he's a self-centered jerk. Also, you might see if he will open up more to you about why he doesn't want to attend. If it is that boring and torturous for him to go to watch, you might cut him some slack. Maybe he'd be willing to support you in some other manner.

No you arent being ridiculous! Your husband is probably not interested because he is too lazy to go u arent wrong since u worked on the play so hard and he should at least go to see what u planned. But u also have to understand his feelings...since he probably thnks whats the point of seeing strangers do plays when id rahter see my own children do plays instead. see this is the thing with men they don tget what we women think or want. so u have to also be understanding of his side of the story but eithe rway u are not being ridiculous cus u have a point!

NO, YOU ARE NOT BEING RIDICULOUS. HE SHOULD COME AND SUPPORT YOUR WORK TO BE ON THE HONEST SIDE, BUT YOU ALSO NEED TO CONSIDER THAT HE HAVE BEEN AT WORK AND HIS ENERGY LEVEL IT MAY BE DOWN AND HIS STRESS LEVEL MAY BE UP AS WELL, THEN TO MEN ARE NOT AS SENSITIVE AS WE ARE, SO IT DO NOT SEEM AS IMPORTANT TO HIM LIKE IT DOES TO YOU. BUT HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO IS DO NOT HOLD IT AGAINST HIM, BUT DO PLAN A ROMANTIC GET AWAY FOR YOU AND HIM FROM THE KIDS, FOR A HOUR OR TWO. AND JUST DO SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVE NOT DONE IN A LONG TIME, AND THAT IS HAVE FUN!!!! DO NOT LET HIM KNOW WHAT YOUR PLANS ARE UNTIL YOU GET HIM TO WHERE YOU HAVE SOT UP. AND IF YOU ARE LIKE ME, CAN NOT HOLD WATER FOR NOTHING AND TELL HIM AND HE DECLINES THE OFFER THEN YOU KNOW THAT IT IS A LITTLE MORE SERIOUS AND YOU AND HIM NEED TO REALLY TALK TO RE- ENERGIZE YOUR MARRIAGE. GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!!!!

He should go. If he doesn't then what are his plans. Staying home with the kids? Going to see friends? Maybe seeing a girlfriend? Yes he could be so insensitive to what you want but expect you to do everything he wants. If he doesn't go with you, then go out of town for the holidays by yourself (or with the kids) and spend it with family of friends that you don't ususlly go see so maybe he'll appreciate you more when you come back.

I think he should support you and go. You may not go to his work and support him but I'm sure you support him everyday. Hopefully he will see the light and realize this is very important to you and go.

I understand exactly how you feel, my mom treats me like that a lot.
Get your husband to bring a friend or co-worker so that way he won't be sitting alone. I think one of his reasons for not wanting to go is because he will be alone, and it's kind of awkward place to be especialy when your children are not in the play.

Sounds like a real supportive husband. Next time he wants dinner tell him you didn't bother making any because you didn't want him to have to bother supporting you in your cooking efforts.
