Ask her to do something active with you on a nice afternoon...like a bike ride, or go for a hike or something. If she is doing something she might feel more comfortable and the two of you could still talk while doing those things.
As well, a day date is less initimidating.

Well Jake,
I seem like a shy girl but i am really not and I have to admit that I love to be flirted with. Just turn up the flirt a little bit more. You may think she is shy but she may be a party girl. If she is anything like me then she is hesitant (just as any girl should be) about talking to guys. Tell her how you feel and if she flirts with you back then most likely she likes you. You will know if she is not feeling it. If you do start going out then I'm sure she would start talking to you a lot more. Good luck sweetie!

You don't doubt yourself about what is going to happen. You should start by asking her out to lunch make a small conversation at first and give her time. Tell and explain to her that you like her and you'd really like it if she would be your girlfriend and if she says yes start by going on dates now and then and give her presents for her birthday. Make sure you take notice in her and be very straight forward to her in the most polite way possible.

i would say to just give her a try. theres nothing to loose. try asking her questions on what she likes, what she does for fun, what type of music does she listen to, all that good stuff and ill bet she'll be talking in no time. maybe on of the reasons why she's so shy around you is that maybe she doesn't know you that well and isn't totally comfortable with you. make her feel safe, make her feel like she can trust you, don't be mean or violent around her and maybe she'll be talking in no time. good luck.

Well, Jake, I have to say to give her some time. maybe she will shed her skin a little. If you want to give this relationship a chance, you need to give her some time.

Take the leap. women are SO preprogrammed to wait for the guy to make the advances, that even if they do like you, they'll hang around with their friends wondering why you haven't made a move... Sux, but true.

You are not deserving of mature answers if you are immature enough to ask silly relationship advice from strangers online. We don't care, we don't know you. Look inside for your answers, not to us. That is a true sign of maturity.

well you'll never know till you try, so I would just ask her out and see what happens..
when you ask her out, just straight out tell her that you don't know for sure where this is going but you like her and want to give the realtionship a try!!!
good luck
