Do you think that people are more likley to get divorced if they are from different backrounds, why or why not?.... (major school project) all your help is apperciated

A marriage CAN work if, prior to putting the rings on, both parties are in agreement about how they will handle their differences. For example, if it's different religious backgrounds, what religion are the children going to be raised as, what holidays are going to be celebrated, etc. All these things need to be discussed before the wedding day.

I think that they are more likely to get a divorce if they are a lot alike. If they have the same interests and they come from similar families, I don' t think that it would work out. They would eventually get tired of each other. They would know what to expect all of the time!

I think it's important to have similar values and wants in life. People get divorced for many reasons. A persons' background has a little to do with it.

I am catholic and my husband was brought up a witness. You can't get anymore diverse then that. But the love that we have for one another no one can touch. It is all about compromise 50/50.

Not necessarily. It would depend on the two people and how committed they are to making it work and blending their different cultures. It would also depend on how different you are talking about.
