It's common for credit cards not to charge interest on current charges if you had paid off your total balance the previous month, but otherwise they usually charge on all outstanding balance including current charges.

Does anyone ever READ the terms and conditions that come with their accounts? Not only can they charge interest in this case, the have to is they ever want to charge interest at all. If they didn't, you could charge $1.00 each month and be exempt from interest. The credit industry would be bankrupt in weeks.
