Just phone your PO and tell him that you forgot, and that you are sorry for missing and want to schedule another appointment. It happens all the time, and, if you not in any other trouble, it won't be a big deal. Just don't ignore it hoping it will go away, because it won't, and if you don't phone to reschedule, you will eventually be in trouble.
It would be better to be honest than to try to think up a creative excuse. If he doesn't believe it, he may ask you to provide proof.
