Check out paint chips at any paint center to find colors you like. You can use one color or more than one. If you want more than one, choose the same value of tan and green or choose two shades of the same color. We love a light brown we just put in the master bath and want to put some up in the living room. I think it may be too dark for the whole room, so maybe we'll do an accent wall with the rest a shade or two lighter. Bring the darker browns into your room with wood furniture or trim color. Chocolate brown curtains are lovely, but really darken a room. We use them in our bedrooms, but not the living room. We've got tan upholstery and a variety of different woods in our furniture.

Oh HGTV recently I saw a couple with a huge rectangle living room. Really it was 18 or 20 by maybe 35 to 40 feet. Obscene in size. They added a wall to make a separate media room.
Plus a living room and dining room.
You could divide it into two rooms with a wall.
A game and play room and a separate media room.

Number one, the first thing you need in order to save space
(which you'll need to accommodate your plan) is a Television Lift.
These are devices that contain your TV while not in use, and then when your need it press a button and up it comes out of a cabinet.
They really are great. Especially since they keep the TV out of view and this can help your children to not be so drawn to watch it, as children often are. Out of sight out of mind.
Check ebay for some deals. Or if your really interested
I can help you. Just email me. We custom build LCD and Plasma TV lifts and cabinets.
