Uhh... because it wasn't? Far as I know, the United States of America was founded in 1776 by White guys... Sorry to burst your bubble.

From what I learned,
The entire land mass before whites arrived was not a "country" in the sense that it was not one unified nation under a constitution. It was mostly tribal with a few rare exceptions like the Iroquois Confederacy and the five civilized tribes. Most of the tribes weren't countries in the modern sense. A lot were nomadic hunter-gatherers. There weren't any cities or civilizations like the Incas or the Aztecs. We know from history what it was like at that time.
I am not sure what you are really getting at -- perhaps that people dismiss the native Americans as worthless savages to be destroyed to make way for the white man? Well not all whites think that.

Man I totally understand you... but a lot of people are based only into technicalities which make'em stupidly blind to undestand that a country is also made before its independence... Instead of looking History or Law books, try reading GEOGRAPHY, specially the concept of "space", which, by the way, was being used by the Natives before the arrival of the white European man. It's a fake assumption to think the country was born in 1776 and before it was... WHATEVER! The American NATION started when the first settlers arrived and that's when the country was born! But you guys can't see it because you didn't learn it in school so "if it wasn't in the book it is not correct". So then, before answering something, how about READING and RESEARCHING a little, just to see if you can understand the concept behind the QUESTION!
I'm no racist. But I hate ignorant people.

Imperialistic justification. Basically, I'm going into a nation that I assume is racially and technologically inferior(at leas the second part is true). And I will take it as my own because of the simple fact that I'm stronger and have more guns.
It wasn't technically a country though because of the fact that the Native Americans were not really united, so much as they were individual tribes who happened to live in the same general area. But they did have laws and government. So, they were civilized, just not as the European powers thought they should be.

Tookie? As in tookie the gangsta of all time that was executed just months ago? #1 the fact that you idolize a murderous gang leader shows that you have issues. #2 I think that your problem is with the whites that brought your ancestors here and you are mad about that. It was not an "organized" country. The native Americans were not considered "civilized". That is why they called them savages. Also I am assuming that you attended school as the rest of us, and you should have learned all about this stuff in American History. I also included a link for famous African Americans. You should find a new role model.

Why do you assume that whites do? I've never encountered that. Being that I'm Native American & White, I think I might have heard something along those lines before this. I'm mean what a ridiculous question.
And you know why should it bother you if someone did show such ignorance? They are ignorant walk on! Honestly babe your the one that's sounding pretty darn ignorant right now. So I'll be walking on...

Because it was'nt, you also presume, you made it a country as soon as the pilgrams landed on Plymouth rock. The Pilgrams colonized America, this was the first step into bringing civilatzation and order to this land.

Technically, it *wasn't* a country. It was a gigantic land mass populated by people that we have come to call native Americans.
It didn't become a country until 1776.
Thanks for the 2 points.

So you are saying that when Christopher Columbus crossed the ocean blue he landed on an established country with laws, a constitution, cities, or even a name?
If so, what was the name of that country?
If you can't name it, then you need to reconsider who is ignorant.
