That would be profiling which is another word for racism. And we don't want to be known as a racist nation. And illegal minorities have a right to work here in America b/c no one should be prohibited from chasing the American dream and try to support their families. And since they are a minority and illegal they are thus exempt from having to obey the law. So, you wasted your time and money by coming here legally. And since you are here legally, you will not be exempt from the law b/c you will be taking jobs away from those who come here illegally. They are suffering much worse. And you must come from a privileged family that took from the poor in order to have been able to afford to get in to the United States legally. So, that is how the democrats are protecting the borders.

For the most part it IS the democrats that want amnesty. It was the Dems in the Senate who were pushing for the ill conceived "comprehensive " plan AKA amnesty for all.
The new speaker of the house represents a "sanctuary" city.
Not that the Republicans don't have their share starting with Bush, but then we all know he is an idiot. All he has to do is open his mouth and you know that.
Feinstein is pushing the "tunnel" bill which makes it illegal to dig a tunnel for the purpose of smuggling. Gee Dianne you got em scared now. It is already illegal to smuggle no matter how it is accomplished dummy.
In short, when all is said and done they will have said more than they have done.
No I would not discriminate against you or your family. I have many friends that are of Hispanic descent but they are AMERICANS. They support the United States period. They feel for the Latin countries as do most Americans but they are tired of the erosion of their standard of living caused by this mass invasion.

Its a political football. Bush replaced into to make our borders more advantageous open and reform immigration previously 911, after 911 each and everything were given screwed up, some conservatives are anti immigration and decide the borders actually closed for the brown human beings (hispanics) who frequently vote democratic, they dont like seeing them on the component to the line waiting for day exertions or residing close to them in rented houses. yet different conservatives opt for and favor the lower priced exertions, vast organizations. between both, not some thing will ensue good.

First of all, I think the threat of terrorism is way overstated, and is being used as a political tool, by both parties. There is not necessarily any correlation between terrorists and illegal immigration. In fact, the accused terrorists of 9-11 entered legally through Canada. Further, the only persons convicted of terrorist-related activities after 9-11 have been american citizens. (Padilla, John Walker, and the muslim from Fresno California.)
Of course any immigrant should have proper documents to come over and work. That goes without saying.
It also goes without saying that the USA is a racist society, and discrimination is not going to stop.

The Demo's won't do much. They will have some kind of half hearted attempt to justify and make things look some semblance of law and order but it will just be a gloss over and the illegals will just keep a coming. Nobody in our government has the juevos/balls to get seriously physical on stopping the illegality.
The threat of terrorism is not really known. But the fact that a measured 90% of illegals have been exposed to Tuberculosis is a well known fact. Exposeur does not mean that you have TB but given the fact that many, many of these illegals work in food prep or harvesting and in restraunts in the USA ...puts all of us at great risk and exposure to such diseases ...and of course there are others, not even mentioning AIDS, hepatitus etc.
The irony of it all is that, very possibly, the USA could be decimated ACCIDENTALLY by illegals who are diseased and bring this devastation into the USA and because they are undocumented or illegal, slip into the US and spread infection throughout and it couldn't be easily caught, tracked or prevented. This is one of my concerns. Just one more of many, many good reasons to stop illegal entry into this country. Anything less is a kind of Russian roulette of condoned suicide by our governmental authorities. I know many nurses and medical people who echo this serious concern I mention here.

About the Democrats, I won't comment, because it'll just piss people off. But I will say, I am 100% happy with and nondiscriminatory to legal hispanic americans. I'm willing to admit that you guys work a lot harder than those of us born here, and usually are more willing to do the jobs we don't wanna do. (not saying your not successful at other white collar jobs, too) Those of us born here have been spoiled from the beginning.
I only have a problem with the illegal ones. It makes me mad that they can use our healthcare, take our jobs, and not pay taxes the way the rest of us do. Our jobs should go to tax-payers.
The problem is not just with Hispanics, though. As a college student in a computer field, everyday I attend classes that are 80% middle-eastern students. No problem with that, except that, at my school anyway, they're being paid to attend here (with money that could go to tax-paying American students) and take their education back home with them. I also know of A LOT of them who work at local gas stations for cash. They are paid under the table so the gas station owners and the employees don't have to pay income taxes. They also are violating their study visas (don't know if that's the correct name) by working more than 20 hours a week. One of the students I know works well over 40 hours a week, and that being tax-free, he's loaded. He can definitely afford to pay for the education we're paying him to have. Grrrr!!!!
Anyone who reads this, PLEASE REMEMBER I'M ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE ILLEGAL WORKERS, not legal ones. I have absolutely no problem with legal immigrants.

It should be "What are the Democrats doing". The liberal dems and Bush are doing nothing. The conservative dems are siding with the Republicans for securing the border. This is the oddest issue for Bush and liberal dems to agree with. Of course illegals should get the proper documentation to come here legally.

I would suggest that was the job of the Bush administration. Something they could have done post-911 rather than attacking, invading and occupying a country who at the time had NO terrorists. and you are not Hispanic American. You are a Hispanic who lives in the United States. Central America, Canada and South America are all a part of America.
They are as much a part of America as is the United States. You wouldn't want to associate yourself with those countries would you? Thus you are a Hispanic who lives in the United States, legally.

Nothing, Nothing, Yes, No.
Neither side is doing anything to come to a consensus and move forward on the issue of immigration ... just a bunch of finger-pointing

i agree with you. as long as your American or legal i have no problems. the Dem's don't seem to want to do anything about are border's. i don't know what the American govt is afraid of. this is American soil, so what if we offend another country feelings. we have to worry about the American citizens safe being before we worry about other country's.
