If my daughter brought anyone home for Christmas, and that someone happened to propose to her, I would be very happy for both of them. For the matter of him being an Illegal alien how an I supposed to know. I mean is this guy supposed to have some sort of sign on his forehead categorizing him as a illegal. God gave you a brain start using it in a more productive matter. A lot of people say that the US is the way it is because of all of the Mexicans and other illegals that immigrate into this beautiful country but in reality it is people like you that have nothing better to do than to think about things that are a bunch of crap. next time before you ask a question think about what it is that you are going to ask and do not make yourself look like a dumb *** again. And to all of you racist assholes out there that have nothing to do but criticize people that are actually making it passable for you to go to the grocery store and buy fresh groceries be a bit more grateful because I sure as Hell know that you are not going to be out in the sun busting your *** doing the job these pore people do to support their families. P.S. read history the U.S. is the land of the Hispanic and Latino communities it was you who immigrated here and kicked them out!!!!!

Wow....what an strange reminder for me......except it was Thanksgiving dinner - not Christmas, and it wasn't my daughter...it was my mother. She shacked up with an illegal from Mexico, and about 3 other families (all in a one bedroom apartment) when I was 2 years old. After several months, she decided to announce it to my grandparents on Thanksgiving, which didn't go too well. Soon after, I was left at my grandparents house and she never came back for me. I was there to stay.
But I thank God everyday for my "mom" and "dad" raising me. I cannot imagine what my life would be like if I had stayed with my mother. I still talk to my mother, and we are close, but we are more like sisters than anything else.
My parents eventually got over the shock, and grew to love him. He IS a good person. And I need to add that he is now in this country legally....at first he wasn't. He has been married to my mother for 29 years now and they have 2 children (both grown now) my half brother and sister, who I love very much. I don't agree with the lifestyle my mother chose.....it's very different from what I know, but it's something I deal with, and I respect it. I've never felt jealous or rejected, I love my parents, and I love my step-dad. Gosh, I cannot believe I'm telling you people all of this...... I better shut up. Giving you this ammo cannot be a good thing LOL..

He already broke a law..... not a good portent for a good marriage. The world is as it is and if he could speak and give a reason for what he has done...... maybe I might help as my daughter loves him. But all in all as there are too many issues involved I would tell him to go home and if he really loves her he will go through the process of becoming legal from there. Then I might lend my help once he has shown he wants to do the right thing. Ask him what he thinks about this... if he balks well then you know regardless. If he again can speak logically then you can decide what to do.

Sorry, this question doesn't apply to me. I have no children and because of the current state of the country I have no plans to have children until things improve. Of course if I did have a daughter and that happened, I would give her only one option.
1. Leave the country with him, and then help him come into the country the legal way.
If she truely loved him, she would help him do things the right way.

A Mexican soap opera version of "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner", right? I'd get them a good immigration lawyer who could advise them on the possibility of the marriage being considered a sham. I would not try to control the life of my adult child, just advise.

My daughter will have more sense than that. Besides, by the time she's old enough to bring home ANYONE for Christmas dinner, we'll have solved the problem.

I wish you would find a new outlet for your frustrations.Your preoccupations with illegal aliens in social settings is getting old.My daughter is very happily married, and so that doesn't apply to me or my family.
Although I would never try to tell someone whom they should love.

This is something I would not even have to think about for another 10 years. I would never turn my back to my children. That is so sick the comment that the one lady made about making her daughter get out if she wanted to be with a man that did not have his papers.

IF they truly are in love kudos, you would need to request proof that his affection is not intent on getting him legal status through marriage.

As long as he's not you or any other hater on this forum, I say "PARTY TIME"! The more, the merrier. They know how to party.
I am not a selfish person like Loretta whatever, that thinks of herself even before her own daughters.
