All the Discs I buy are 700mb CD-R but to be honest that doesn't hold much as far as MPEG's go! How do I get more on it say a film or something?

If you want to put movies on a CD they will be rubbish quality. Try a DVD much more space (more with dual layer). Even better buy a divx player and burn at least 3 or 4 moves to DVD as data and play them on your TV.

You need to convert to DVD's and invest in a DVD writer, There is way to much data in video files to fit on CD's

Good software should always acompany burning disks. Use a good compression rate to burn your pics and films and you will be able fit a bunch of stuff on a disk.
