Ok, so I was talking to one of my guy friends and he said, "do you want to go out with me," and before i could respond, he said "just kidding." Does this mean that he actually likes me, but was just too shy to admit it? or am i reading into it too much?

well. he really likes you and he seems like he's afraid of rejection so he hides it by joking. which i think is cute (at times) but not always. OR he just thinks of you as a friend and he knows your not w/ anyone right now and he's just being a jackass friend by playing w/ your head.
