Merry Christmas to me, I am almost FREE!!!! WHOOP!

I didn't say I never grieved....

I didn't say it was EASY getting to this point....

There is so much more to it than "marriage/divorce".

If I am shallow for choosing to be free from emotional abuse, then so be it.

I am going through divorce and feel like sh..t.
This is very odd for me because everything in my life was just perfect. 15 years ago a made my masters degree ( highest in my class). I own a successful business so i can travel around to different countries. No money pain. Two wonderful kids, physically a jog daily ( ran more than 20 marathons). My parents still live and really love them.
But, you know what?? I would trade everything in a flash if i could change my marriage. I can say i am very successful in everything i do not care, and i am a failure in what really matters to me. I made a promise to God 15 years ago and i am about to break it. This is very sad.
Sorry to spoil your happiness!!

Good luck!!!

It's been 3 yrs ago, but when I got divorced I was happy about it. After 12 yrs of he.., I felt totally free. I did all my suffering and crying when I was married. I've never regretted the divorce. Best thing I ever did.

I know it is tough to live with some one who treats you the way you don't want to be treated. However if you have a kids please think twice before you decided to make the step, because u making the decision which might affect your child life. for sure you know what you doing, i might do the same thing if i get in your position so i don't judge. don't expect every thing will go soft, it might be hard to start thinking as a single after being attached with some one. any ways good luck

Sadly getting a divorce usually is cause for celebration...Naively we marry our true love only to find their true nature...and it is not often pretty...well hopefully you will be wiser should you ever wish to give marriage another try..don't give up on life it can be on hell of a ride so ENJOY...good luck in the singles world..

I find this a sentiment that is disrespectful to the institution of marriage. If this is how you feel about marriage, if the sanctity of the vows you took mean nothing, if the pain and suffering you have left in your wake are not worth grieving over, then you are sadly shallow person.
