Can anyone tell me what butter scotch chips are. They are in a recipe I am looking at. Are they what I think they are. Those candies that come in a yellow wrapper?

Do not use the candies in the yellow wrapper! They are a totally different animal. You'll bake them into cookies and then someone will sue you when they break a tooth! :(

Butterscotch chips are shaped just like chocolate chips but have a tan color and, obviously, a butterscotch flavor. Most good sized supermarkets stock them with the other baking goods.

They come in a bag right next to chocolate chips in the grocery store. They are in a yellow bag.
