My wife and I have been through numerous problems and we're both in therapy. She is extremely depressed and blames everything on me. I have made many changes and improvements in my life but she still-after a long period of time- blames me for many of her problems. She recently, after nearly a year of therapy and never taking meds before, started taking Welbutrin but I'm not sure how it is working. She says she's no longer in love with me and doesn't want to be in the marriage anymore but still functions in the marriage as if everything is normal (minus physical intimacy which I understand could be a byproduct of the depression). When we travel, especially to my families house for the holidays, she seems better and much more loving and outgoing towards me. As soon as we return back to our home and home city things change. Back comes the anger and depression. I have offered for us to move but she will not, she says she does not trust me. What can I do to help her and myself?

Seems she may be suffering from bipolar disorder - sometimes happy and outgoing, next depressed. You may probably need to give her some time alone (weeks maybe) that's if she wants to. The medication may take sometime time , say 2-3 weeks before you see the real effect of it. If after 3-6 months there is no real change in her behaviour, you may need to go back to your physician for a review of the medication. You may need to take some time out too, but be tolerant in what ever you do.

Get a sitter for the kids, give her a glass of expensive wine and some chocolates. Tell her she looks beautiful. Tell her to get dressed in something sexy, but appropriate for a restaurant. Tell her she looks beautiful and sexy.Take her to a romantic movie and dinner. Tell her you love her and that she is the most beautiful woman you have ever laid eyes on. Then when you get home give her some more wine and tell her to get into something comfortable, when she is undressing go into her space and lightly rub her back and her hair and tell her how beautiful she is and that you desire her. You know the rest.......this may sound corny but it works for me.

This is a though situation. She may not want to leave you for finical insecurities. Bu it sounds like she is not happy with you. I think that it may be best for both of you to go your separate ways.

i have simple question for you.
do you have self confidence?
if you really have self confidence the problem from her.
women like the man who have self confidence and dislike the man who doesnt have it
and i think you should work on that and this the change she wants.
