Does anyone out there have a Ford Labor time book? I have a 2002 Ford Ranger Edge 2WD with a 3.0/Auto drivetrain. I need to have some kind of ideal of how much it will cost to replace the transmission(just labor) I already bought the transmission. I plan on taking it to a regular shop, not a dealership. If someone knows the average price for this job that would be good too.

Thanks,

Brian

I'd just call transmission shops in your area to determine the cost. Most places are going to be the same on just an install. Check the yellow pages to see if there is a Mr. Transmission, Amaaco Transmission or similar places that you can get quotes from.

Auto data have listed the time`s as 4 hour`s & 20 minute`s ,
That it for removal and refitting the gearbox and linkage`s .
Garage prices differ from one another but if your in the uk you can count on the average garage price of around £20 - £25 per hour ! Best to have your clutch checked when the box is out might save you a job later !
Good luck ..........
