don't go there as the final destination but yes you can get some pretty good deals on liquor and cigarettes but not much else...
depending on which country you are in.

You get good deals on liquor fo sho! Even when you have to pay duty on it, it still ends up being cheaper!

I live in Detroit, about 20 minutes from the Canadian border and whenever I have a party I drive to the duty free to stock up. Often I can get 3 Liters of Absolut (3 - 1 liter bottles) for $40 (American). If I went to a regular store here, I'd buy a fifth (smaller than the liter) for anywhere from $22-25 dollars. And they have every kind of liquor, beer & wine that you can imagine.

In the days of online shopping and price comparison sites, the only thing worth buying in duty free is booze and the evil weed. Everything else you can cheaper online.
