im 15 and i got 4 hours on a school night once but i felt very energetic, even more than when i get 8 hours. y is this and how much should i get???.

Teenagers need more sleep than adults.You say that you feel energized after only 4 hours. I do to,the less sleep the more ""hyper" I become. I call it a non-productive high. It's similar to diet pills though. You have energy and then you CRashhhhh.It is a proven fact that your immune system becomes more and more compromised with the more chronic our sleep loss. Also it contributes to memory loss and bad judgement. It will begin to erode your creativity as you develop more daytime sleepiness. There's a real age test on the internet and not getting enough sleep during our lifetimes decreases the lenth of our lives.Also it is said that the hours we get before 10 pm have double the benefit. Americans are the most sleep-deprived people in the world. Sleep has everything to do with our body's chemistry. Think about it;When prisoners are interrogated they are sleep-deprived to break their defenses. You need your sleep,according to the leading research. Sleep tight :)

Yeah what you eat has a play too But if you do 4 hours everynight by the end of the week or month you will be BEGGGING for sleep!
I worked - an 8:30 - 5:30 job got home around 6:30 took a nap had to be up at the bar to dj from 9pm - 3am get home around 3:30-4am in the morning sleep and do it again! i did the bar 4 nights out of the week leaving me with one day to sleep! I'll tell you the first few weeks it wasn't so bad but after a while! I started to be mean and irritable and not happy!
well i got it knocked down to 2 nights at the bar and well it was still a mean and unhappy!
so most average good sleep rate would be between 6-8 hours.. I mean everyone is differnt!
and becarefull what you eat if you eat pasta befor going to bed and only getting 4 hours you will have more energy pasta stores that energy!
that's one thing that helped me threw! but you need sleep so very it from 4-8 hours and you'll see!!

The amount of sleep required is dependent upon the person. It's generally advised to get 8 hours a night but this isn't universally necessary.

While you may have been energetic and thought you were fine after 4 hours sleep repeatedly doing so after stressful days may not hold the same result...

You should get 8 to 10 hrs at your age, but most likely you will not. Most kids do not get the required amount of sleep that they need. I wouldn't worry about it though. The body is amazing and will let you know when it needs some sleep even if you don't want to. At some point you will crash and off to sleep you will go. Hopefully you will be in bed when that happens.

It depends on the depth of sleep. 4 hours of good sleep without interruption is better then 8 hours of light sleep. As long as you aren't tired and feel well rested then 4 hours is good for you. However, it wouldn't be a good idea to make it a habit. it is recommended that you get 6-8 hrs.

at 15 you need 8 hrs, at 20 you need 10 hours, at 25 you need 8 hrs again. if you wake up to an alarm, you havent slept enough.
you feel energized by the buzz of delusion.

I say at least 6 hrs. After that, however much you need. Did you know Albert Einstein need 10 hrs of sleep every night?

Whatzup, u're a student and what u need most importantly as a student is to achieve a goal and thats getin good grades,so my advise for you is to sleep for at least 5hours to be a great person an important person in life.CIAO

You should get 8 at least. I am like that too, seems like the less I get the better I feel, but it catches up on you, trust me! It wont be long before you feel worn out, not only that, it also messes up you bodies schedule. It's not good.

for your age . from 8 to 10 hours is okay.. not less and not more.. so you wouldnt have side effetcs.. and the best are between 11 pm and 10 am
