you should and then if people stop answering your questions then they think you look better as a cartoon.

I like your avatar. But if you think your pic is cuter, put it! The avatars are fun because you can change them up and we (those of us who see the avatar) have to imagine what you look like. If you really look like the avatar.

If you are looking for a relationship, then put your picture up (which I think is relatively safe--it's sharing too much information that is dangerous). Otherwise, it doesn't really matter. Do what you are comfortable with.
Be sure to edit your settings so that people can email you, too.
