Speaking from experience - neglect. Not attending to your wife's needs and just assuming that she knows you love her. If you could get her to stay, it will take a huge, continuous effort on your part to convince her you really love her and to make her fall in love with you again. Then you have to maintain it or you'll be right back where you began - heading down the drain.

Nothing last "forever" and you will only prolong your pain and suffering by asking why? why? why? SHE probably doesn't even know why. Allow yourself a "reasonable" amount of time to mourn and then move on with your life. A mourning period is necessary as the death of a marriage is not unlike the death of a person and death is a part of life....remember...and vow to enjoy the remainder of yours...there is much happiness yet to be found!

You should ask her.
Take her out to a private dinner in a decent spot and talk to her about what's bothering you. She may surprise you by feeling the same way. You both can change this if you really want to and are open with one another.

well from a womans view..you didnt say what your marriage was like...
was it a good marriage, did you keep her happy or was it go to work come home and thats it...
alot of marriages go down the tube because the woman is either cheated on..or they feel that they are not appreciated...
like dr. phil once said..if us women were paid for everything we did...not only in our professional life but at home...we would be rich..
did u bring her flowers, tell her thank u for all she did for u...or did u just expect it from her?
she may of just felt burnt out...
but as i said u didnt elaborate what your marriage was like...abusive? no attention?

It happens every day to someone....It happens to wives and husbands alike, but it doesn't happen overnight. There are many factors that contribute to the demise of a marriage. You may consider some professional counseling to help you to resolve your grief and any anxiety you may have.

Neglect, lack of respect, pickiness, nastiness, bad habits, drinking, swearing - these are total turn offs to anyone and there comes a point where you just say "So far and no further!"
