I am specifically asking about my situation but I'd like to know how you deal with it. I know a similar question has been asked but mine's a little different.
I have dated this guy for 4 years and a couple weeks now. We started dating as freshmen in college and now I'm in grad school in UT and he's finishing his 5th year at our old place in OH. Needless to say, that's really far away. My biggest problem is not being jealous when he goes and hangs out with friends until 2 or 3 am on the weekends.
So how do you guys cope with being really far away from someone you love and how do you cope with different social lives? We're in our early twenties and plan on getting married at some point but for right now we're looking at a LDR of about 5 years. Please don't tell me it's stupid and won't work because I'm looking for encouragement and helpful ideas.
Thanks!

Being in love is great, whether your bf is beside you or he is living far away from you. How to deal when he is far away... you have
to trust him and even if jealousy is there, do not dwell on these thoughts as it will only spoil your days... call or talk to him and
always re-inforced your personal relations to him by talking positive things and discussing your future lives.

i have had a couple of long distance relationships myself. you can have fun with it. i think the most important thing is to trust him until he gives you a reason not to trust him. Being jealous happens whenever you feel threatened in some way. Instead of sitting home and feeling jealous, go out and do something fun. guys like women who love life. enjoy your life and if its meant for you two to be together it will happen. if not, you will have enjoyed yourself either way.
