If you think homosexuality is accepted in our culture you are ignoring a big percentage of the population. Homosexuality has a long way to go to be accepted in our society - it is only accepted by a certain portion of the population. For most of society it is still a "taboo", even though the medical and scientific evidence of late shows that it is something determined at birth, and NOT a choice.

Homosexuality is not that accepted in our society, that is why many places do not have laws barring discrimination against gay people regarding employment and housing.
In regards to sexual taboos, the only ones I know of are polygamy, having a partner who is mentally unable to consent, and having a partner who is not yet an adult; and I do not think any of those will or should ever be accepted. As long as one consenting adult can choose another consenting adult to be in an adult relationship, that's all that matters. That is why bi-racial marriages were finally accepted and why gay marriages will be eventually accepted.

OH GOOD GOD!
That is like saying, oh let the gays get married and next people will want to marry their cats...
That is just a scare tactic form the right wing nut jobs...
WHO were incidentally the same people who didn't want blacks and whites to be able to inter-marry...
See how well THAT went... they said the fabric of our world would be torn to shreds if black people and white people were allowed to mix and it seems that the fabric is fine after all.
The problem is that there are taboos in the first place... People need to get over themselves and realize that they cannot legislate the morality of the entire world and they should not BE ABLE TO do so either.

What you do not seem to understand (and a similar is going for most "christians) is that human sexual attitudes have continually been "lax." the concept that's purely those days that persons began having sex out of marriage, gay sex, bi-sexual sex, and so on. is fairly incorrect and naiive. in element of actuality, this stuff were happening, and commonly, as long as there have been human beings. what's replaced contained in the previous 40 years or so is that now everyone looks purely extra open about them -- the position fairly some the time contained in the previous human beings went to giant efforts to cover their sexual activities. And sure, a similar is authentic of Muslim societies. The reaction of many christians to human beings being extra open about their sexual activities, and by no ability hiding them as a lot, has commonly been to "double down" on the ranting about sex. What they truly wish for is to cover it far flung from public view, purely so that they are no longer "tempted" to do issues their holy books say they ought to not (yet they do besides). that's an "out of sight out of ideas" kind of attitude, which has never worked, even though it lets them pretend that everybody looks doing what their holy books tell them to do even even as they don't seem to be.

Accepted? Really? Show me the marriage license then. Here in the states it isn't even close to being "accepted". Tolerated, maybe.
So far those type slippery slope arguments are nothing but scare tactics with as much credibility as the dreaded Y2K bug.

Who declared homosexuality acceptable? The Pope? He thinks we are 'deviant'? President Bush? He thinks we're 'sick'.
I can't get married to the man I love. Why? I am not acceptable.

Homosexuality has NOT been accepted. If it had, then they wouldn't have to fight to get married!
There is no other sexual "taboo" that is innate. People don't practice polygamy because they were biologically predetermined to do so; they do it because they choose to. There is a difference between choice and nature.

Cross dressing. One out of every five males either has done it or is doing it. Females have been doing it for generations. A more flexible transgendered style will soon be acceptable and even fashionable. So prepare for men in skirts as well as girls in pants.

I'm sorry, but i disagree with you. If homosexuality is so accepted then how come they can't get married? How come they have problems doing things that monogamous people can do??
