My boyfriend lives currently in another part of the world. He had been keeping a big secret from me and lying about it for quite some time. He was afraid to tell me the truth about this secret. So he had his friend help him fake his death. His friend called me and told me my boyfriend had died in an accident. This broke my heart so much. I didn't think I would be able to go on in life without him. This happened one month ago.
Then 3 days ago my boyfriend called me and told me the truth. I don't know what I should be feeling or behaving like. In my heart, I want to forgive him and start over with him again, I really feel his is the love of my life. Or should I dump him and start over with someone else? Am I a fool?

If this is how he handles conflict, I would leave him. Especially if the secret wouldn't have ended your relationship. How could you ever trust him again? I can't believe you're even considering staying with him. I don't think he could have betrayed you any more. Even an affair wouldn't be as bad as faking your own death. Wow! He has a total disregard for your feelings and cares only for himself. He has proved he would rather devastate you, then face up to whatever his secret was. What's he going to do if something else comes up? He is a selfish, selfish man. Find someone else.

Well if you are feeling very uncomforable about him doing this and telling you lies because of some stupid reason, you have to get him to stop. Relationships are about trusting each other and talking and sharing. But so far he isn't doing any of it. He is keeping secrets from you and made a really dump joke or whatever he was trying to do. He is either playing with your heart or just not loving you anymore. Either way you have to find out, or you will go no where.

Time to move forward WITHOUT him! The fact that he would "fake his death" instead of being honest and telling you his secret says he didn't trust in you or your feelings. Maybe whatever his secret was would have damaged your relationship, but he should have been open with you and see what would have happened from there. He's selfish!!! MOVE ON ALONE and find someone new, someone who will respect you as an equal partner, who will be open and honest and truthful with you.

My stbx was also hiding a deep dark secret and invented multiple lies to cover-up his crime. His family hid it, his separate bank accounts hid it, and his new high power attorney is disguising it as fast as possible.
I found out too late and I am now exposed by association to money laundering. I live in fear of FBI or IRS investigators assuming I knew or participated in the corporate fraud. They will say- you were his wife, how could you not know??
This could happen to you. HE is not worth the risk, no matter what the "secret" is.
Leave him dead & buried.

Leave him. If he is keeping secrets from you and even faking his own death, then something is wrong with him. Leave him and find someone closer to where you live and start over.

Where is his family in all this. LIke his mom. I mean if they know all is well and played along, thats just messed up. I would leave and not look bad. This guy has seroius problems and doesnt care for you to let you think that. How childesh!!
