DO NOT DO THIS.
A dentist will tell you they are having many problems with peoples teeth that have had a tongue piercing. The ball is breaking off the teeth or chipping the teeth making the teeth sharp and causing other problems and infections in patients mouths.

I'm not sure if there is anything good, but there are plenty of bad things...
Someone above mentioned infection, which is a real possibility.
Also, if you choose to have a metal stud in your tongue, you can severely damage your teeth and gums.
I wouldn't do it...

My son (not thinking clearly) got it done and ended up with a bad infection. Not only did he speak funny, but he risked his health.
It finally healed and he admitted it was a dumb thing to do.
Tatoos?? as long as I can't see it!
