I am a floral designer and without a doubt, orchids.....even the cut flowers of an orchid plant will last for weeks. If you want something not quite as expensive, a small lily called alstromeria lilies are very long lasting and come in lots of colors. Roses are always thought of but, don't always do red....they come in some fabulous colors these days.Try and get Ecuadorian roses. They have a much bigger bloom, typically....Hope this helps

There are some of the most beautiful flower hair clips that have glitter and beautiful colors all over them. They are not like regular flowers which wilt and die. They can be worn over and over again and can be bought just about anywhere. They aren't real, but girls love them.

Sunflowers!
They are sooo cute. My husband sometimes brings me a bunch of them. I think they look sweet because they always look like you hand picked them. Plus, they're less cliche' than red roses. (And less expensive too!!!)
If you're dead set on roses, don't get red, get multicolored or orange roses. Red roses are so Valentine's day, but orange look so striking and unusual.

Roses, roses, roses. I know they're a cliche, but every girl loves them. Trust me, she won't care about cliches - she'd rather have roses than something more "original".
