I met this new friend in class. She is a really nice girl. She has a car and will give me a lift whenever I need one. Sometimes, we go out together. Yet, I feel sudden fears in me that she might find me boring or irritating. I know this is all inside my head but I really appreciate this girl's friendship.

Ask her what she like to do on her spare time.Find thing to do together. It will be fun for you and her.If she didn't like you,you would have noticed.
Next time you want to go somewhere and she offers you a lift, say no.If she insists on taking you there,it means she's doing it coz she wants it to.(And don't refuse the second time).

good friends are like good lovers. Selfless! In other words give without the expectation you will ever get back.

Don't take her for granted. Que off of her conversations without butting into her business, and bring her food occasionally...that should work.
