I would like a dog that is a Yorkie Chihuahua mix, with longish hair. I don't think it'll be easy to find, because it's not a purebreed and I won't know if that's what i got if i adopted one from a shelter. Anyone know how I could go about getting this particular dog for around $100?

Just drive down the highway and throw your $100 bill out the window. You will be much better off in the long run. If you want a real dog, support a breeder maintaining quality in any purebred. Don't spend money on a "designer" mutt.

I have seen some of these mixes and they are funny little dogs. The ones I saw were a yorkie mixed with a short haired chihuahua and the hair was very sparse. Just little tufts of hair here and there. It might have a better coat if it was a yorkie mixed with a long haired chi. I would get a yorkie or a Chihuahua, not a mix. The purebreds are better.

try a rescue organization of some sort, ie humane society, the ppl who breed these designer dogs charge an arm and a leg for what is essentially a mutt

I prefer hair that is shoulder length or longer, As well as since that men who like females are more often then not right, they like long hair because this looks more feminine, as most men have short hair.
