What is that person or persons name(s)?
We as Americans, need to determine who can and will be held responsible for this failing in our government.
Sure the Pres for the last two terms but who in their administrations? Anyone have any names? Hard facts? I haven't heard anyone deal with this issue. Hard to believe as it sounds.
If we find and legally nail the culprits, we can take a big step towards correcting the process and holding our government officials accountable.
We can arrest their corruption in the name and fact of our countries basis of law and order and send a strong message to those who govern.
We mean business.
Enforce the laws of the United States.

Mindy Dear, What hysteria, what lies? Haven't you been paying attention to what's going on around you?
Note to all: While your answers are all generally correct, there are specific people who control INS and Border Patrol and their are Congress committees who oversee the job they are doing and so on.
America nees and investigation, some indietments and prosecutions. We need some political witch hunts that would serve to wak up the scafflaws, corrupted politicians and the large business interests that profit and have inspired this problem for out nation. I personally do not see this as a small thing.
Thank you to all.

My dear American friends: I'll start by saying I am Mexican living at the border with California, that has a lot of reasons to be thankful to many USA people. I love traveling, visiting and shopping, but BY ALL MEANS would never live in the USA as I think it's the worst place to raise my children. I sadly see that racism and arrogance have filled you hearts and minds, and that education and morality are completely forgotten by most Americans.
I am aware that many of my Latin folks who legally or illegally immigrated to the US are building a bad reputation for the rest of us. Personally I dislike most Mexican-Americans (often called "Pochos") not for being Latins, but rather because they got the worst of both sides. However, we must not forget that there are many others that are making their best effort and working way better than many "pure" Americans. Honest immigrants are not stealing any thing from you; they have earned what you did not. You must not forget that USA was built by immigrants from all over the world. You must not forget it was the USA who stoled lands from Mexico and native people (sluttered with no mercy).
You really want to stop immigration? Here are some tips:
1) Start by accepting those jobs rejected by other ethnical groups (such as black, asian, italian, jewish and even caucasian)
2) Adjust your lifestyle to a reasonable wage, instead of dreaming of becoming a millionare with a 9 to 5 minimum effort
3) Stop using drugs (as long as most of you keep using it, other people will have a better performance than you)
4) Stop quitting school.
5) The world is not only USA. Therefore, there are many cultures and ways of thinking.
6) Stop buying Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Rover, VW. Stick to Ford, Chrysles and Chevrolet.
7) Eat no more bananas, mangoes, avocados and other food grown in other countries.
8) Be willing to pay for consumer products what they would cost if produced in USA with the salaries you get.
9) Send immigrants back to their countries (that might include your parents, great parents, forefathers or even yourself).
I know I got a little rude, but it is not my intention to offend anyone. You have every right to protect you borders and somehow control immigration, but I just wanted to remind you how USA got to be a great nation; and that if you keep following the same path you are doing now, it will soon become nothing but good memories.
I beg you to please take a step back and appreciate what you have. Read a dollar bill and return to trust God once again...

Israel is winning the battles and losing the war. There are three issues which prevent peace - the status of Jerusalem, the right of Palestinian return, and Israel's withdrawal from the lands won in 1967. On each one, Israel has the upper hand for the present and has to defend its gains. The balance of power is shifting against Israel. Iran will achieve nuclear weapons within a year or two and the US failure to create a democratic and Western leaning Iraq and upcoming withdrawal brings back one more enemy. The US economy is fragile and dependent on Arab and other foreign investments. The Middle East is becoming less secular and foes like Hezbollah are formidable fighters, as shown in the Lebanon invasion two years ago . There is a cadre of well trained and experienced insurgents in Iraq who have mauled an army of tens of thousands for years at a time. And Barrack Hussein Obama takes office in three weeks. This is an attempt to change the bleak position of Israel - a throw of the dice.

It is a combination of things but first you must eliminate the demand for illegal labor by enforcing serious and punitive measures against all employers who hire them including prohibitive fines and forcing temporary shut downs of plants where systemic illegal labor hiring is occuring. Second, all police departments must be accorded the ability to arrest, detain and deport illegal aliens. Third, we must return to rigid enforcement of immigration practices for visa applications whether student, business or permanent.
Stop looking to place blame and start acting to solve the problem.

It is not any ONE person- its a whole host of people--
INS & Border Patrol -- and the agency those fall in.
The president(s) over the past few terms
The Mexican government (their citizens are the majority of illegals) and the governments of other crappy countries.
US local/municiple governments for putting up with illegals and not enforcing laws.

We should be paying the Border Patrol enough to keep them honest. It would solve a lot of our drug problems as well. That is the weakest link in enforcing immigration laws.

The PRESIDENT of the USA is duty bound to control and defend
our borders......
Every president since Dwight D. Eisenhower has ignored and
failed at this sworn duty....It is disgraceful....
Congress, always so eager to provide "oversight" and stick their
noses in everyones business...Has been silent on the matter and
complicit in this disgrace...

Probably whoever was in office when we dug the Panama
canal. Instead of digging a canal that Carter gave away, we should have been building the US version of the great wall of China.
At the moment illegal aliens are murdering more Americans than are being killed in Iraq.

Good Luck!! There are numerous factors that contribute to illegals entering the country, so there is plenty of blame to go around, and the poor immigrants are the victims

It's our fault as Americans... we voted in people that didn't do enough, ... it's our fault, and it's time for us to realize that and step up and make sure that the people we vote in listen to our concerns and do something about it, it's time for us to make sure laws get put in place to keep us from hiring, housing, giving government funds to illegal immigrants..
