i'm ready for a relationship, but i don't want to smother him by calling him too much or ask him to do things he's not ready for. how do i keep myself in the friends zone and yet show him i'm a keeper? how can i be there for him when he doesn't ask for it?

don't say sex, 'cause i know he's not like that.

hi! we are in the very same boat, dear!
I am there for him, and he is there for me.
in my case what we both have agreed on is to BE loyal to each other in terms of true friendship, and being believers in Jesus, we have agreed on praying for each other whenever we need.
at this time we are clearly BUILDING on our relationship as true friends, getting to know each other in many areas and just not committed to more than that.
we both came from destroyed marriages and we just need time to heal.
We enjoy having dinner or lunch together, exchanging ideas in the things we do (writing).
AS for now, at least on my part, it is important to have him around for that so much needed support. And I hope I am being the same for him. no rush at all

awwww! this is uber sweet! you should plan a dinner for him on some random day. just tell him to be ready at say 7, pick him up, take him to a surprise restaurant, have dinner, and then call it a night after that. you don't want to push things too far too fast. taking the initiative to do little things like that will let him know that you're interested, you're not pushy or clingy, and you're an overall really sweet girl worth dating. another thing that works is just buying random thinking of you cards. guys always like that.

Just be you because more likely than not he knows you are a keeper but is shy and is thinking the same thing Give him some time. Don't wait your whole life though but don't completely give up either if its meant to be it will come because patience is a virtue

sex, Just Kidding! No, I think you should just be the best friend you could be and perhaps invite him to "hang out" but secretly be letting him see how nice it would be to spend time together.
