This guy doesn't know I know he likes me but knows I like him, cos ahhh I like told him, and now he has got realll big-headed about it. Telling him I like him got me nowhere apart from giving him a permanent big ego. Are all guys total jerks like this?

Pretty much. lol. You've given him a huge ego boost. What you need to do now is back off completly and let him chase you for a bit, ignoring him for a while might be a good thing. Let him worry a little. It should reduce that ego a bit.

Everybody is different.Some guys are like that but most aren't.Even if he does like you,it is hardly worth it if he is going to act like that.Find someone else.
