You have to be very careful with on line degrees. Many of them are not recognized. Attending a bricks and mortar university is always better. Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada is one school that has been doing distance education for over 30 years. It is better than most on line universities. It may meet your needs.

That on-line Degree is WORTHLESS and you have spent money on NOTHING!

Yes, they are being recognized and acknowledge more by companies. Try the big ones like University of Phoenix or Walden University. Also look at your big state schools as many of them have online colleges too... Try Penn State Online and U of Maryland University College.

Watch out a lot of them are scams! Make sure it's a real university that you've heard of (at least) before

Yes, but you must be careful that you are in a program that is properly accredited. Such as, in social work it needs to be accreditied by CSWE or in education, it needs to be accredited by NCATE.

sure it does, especially if you have a job in one location and you want to go to school in another. perfect example, i'm teaching english in korea. one of my co-workers is teaching here but wants to get his masters in TSOL. he can work here and work on his masters from a university in england. also, online courses can be significantly cheaper.... but if you're looking for a complete college experience, you won't get that online.

yes they do as long as the school is regionally accrediated I am starting school on Monday online and I am excited.
